Hung over at the Edge Cafe…

What the fuck is up with that, huh?!  Suffice it to say that at this very moment, both post and accompanying vid have a pointed significance pour moi.

…go ahead…they’ll wait…(like hell they will)….reach wa-a-ay in there and rip out some shit and throw it on up….they’re waiting Girlie and let’s face it, they’re not going to wait forever…

Trust.  Risk.  Persistence.  Self-awareness.  Urgency.  Denial.  Sympathy.  Patience.  Longing.  Realization.  Accomplishment.  Success.  Complement. (not to be confused with “compliment“)

I am able to write and launch into cyberspace any thought, any emotion.  It is for me, controlled folly.  Yes, I reference Don Juan.  His statement to Carlos regarding life is that , as a warrior, everything he does must be controlled folly.  That is to say nothing really matters, nothing is important.

DJ to CC:  …“It’s possible to insist, to properly insist, even though we know that what we’re doing is useless”, he said, smiling.  “But we must know first that our acts are useless and yet we must proceed as if we didn’t know it…” 1

Moving forward is about will.  Will is about choice.  Remove the importance to a thing and remove the chain that binds.  Freedom comes when all things are equal, when all is everything and nothing at the same time.

WOW!!! Love the new look of your blog.

The last paragraph prompts me to remember what I must do in order to forge ahead. It is very easy to deny one’s self the freedom that comes with removing the importance of something. Yet at the same time it is as difficult to remove that importance.

      Thank you!
Self denial all too often becomes habit. It obscures balance.
It is a difficult task (removing importance), however, it is one that becomes easier with time.

Well, you did make reference to that in your comment:)
What do you call the “hunger” then?
None taken as you make a proper statement – these words will be true for “whomever applies it to their lives”.

Thanks for the discourse. Proper beginning to a new cycle.

    Love the new look!

For me, lately, it hasn’t been so much about removing the importance attached to things, but the expectations. It is letting go of old ideas and realizing that there are some things I just don’t care for anymore, no matter what they once meant or represented to me.

Thank you! Ironically, the theme is entitled “Bold Life”.

The two are married – importance and expectation. When you truly “let go” of something or someone it/they can be seen without prejudice. Assessment of “importance” will direct whether there should be “expectation”.
Ultimately though, it all returns to you, to your choice(s). And I cannot speak of choice without reference to the Doctrine. For me, it has been a pretty enlightening journey. That is to say, trying on another person’s glasses (to the extent that I can). Simple yet not. And always the challenge of my own self interacting with others but now with more of an awareness of their “expectations” of me (according to their perspective/view of the world.)

the idea of nothing being important (as presented by Castanda) is a concept that is easy to get slightly off, (if I come across the passage I will cite it, however) I believe that Castanada (through his character don Juan) speaks about nothing being more important than (another thing)… this is a crucial difference.

To be important implies a thing has a pre-eminant place among the features of a person’s world, a position that confers the suggestion of (relatively) greater value (than other objects).
To have all things be of equal importance, requires a person to look inward for the (contrasting) value

    …or something like that.

Yeah, that pretty much is what I was speaking of. The passage I cited was early in don Juan’s explanation of controlled folly.
If one does not attach importance (more or less) to a thing, then one is better able to not be unduly influenced/affected by emotional response (learned or not).
It is about choice…it is about will.
      It is about looking inward.
