It is 9:13 am. The sun is shining gloriously, reflecting angelic off the newly fallen snow. Pretty. It is Friday and I have a second day off from work. Highly unusual. Unprecedented snowfall here in Northern Virginia. At least in the last 3 or 4 years. I wouldn’t know about that since I’ve only been here since October. But my eyes do not decieve me.
So I have a gift today, this Day of Valentine. What shall I do with my gift? For one, I’m writing this post. Writing when the mood is not upon me. When not even the best of juicers can illicit a drop of creativity from my cranium. So why don’t I tell you about the last coupla days.
Been doing a bit of “tubing” and stumbled on yet another band I really like – In the Moment. Their official vids are by far the best (it’s that way for so many bands isn’t it? except for the Chili Peppers lol). So I’m posting links to some of my favorite In the Moment songs. well stated, but imo, thats all you can hope to get. the rest is to act in the here and now… you get to be forced to confront the simple fact that there is only the here and now, that the people, places and things (in your ‘life’) are features that reflect your own needs and desires, but as ‘real’ they are no more real than your (current) hope for a better life…and no less real than
Power is a verb, the body creates the world each and every day, claim the power and live the life.
the nostalgia that we hold for anything and everything, present and past is remarkable… ask the abused spouse, ask the self-abused person, ask anyone….the worst and most self-limiting aspects of our ‘real’ lives is way, way more sought after (and when left behind, missed) than any promise of happiness.

This is one of my favorite bands! Oh my god, they are fantastic. We had tickets to go see them, but due to the snow they had to cancel the show. Broke my heart. Go listen to their songs “Blood” and “Whore” and “Adrenaline.” Absolutely studdening!
