Yippee Ki Yay! It’s a Ten Things of Thankful!

I know! It’s Sunday! And I’m only now getting to writing a TToT let alone finish reading last week’s TToTs! (Dyanne?, Kerry? I can do this right? lol) I’ve always loved to read and now that we’ve got extra time on our hands (don’t burst my bubble, guys) it’ll be a piece of cake ๐Ÿ™‚

Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge.ย I need to pre-empt my “formal” thankfuls by saying how much I appreciate Zoe passing the honor of hosting the Six Sentence Bloghop to me (um, Zoe? We totally expect to be seeing more of you in the future ๐Ÿ˜€)ย  And thank you guys for being so enthusiastic to keep the hop going! I’m really excited. The SSS has been instrumental in getting me back to wanting to write again. And that circles round again to all of you ๐Ÿ™‚

Alright! Lots of thankfuls to get to… where to begin, where to be….

  1. Daylight Savings Time!!!! What more need I say to that one folks. Love it!

2. New laptop. While I haven’t quite adapted to it yet, I will embrace the challenge of different. All I’ll say right now lol

3. Terminator 6. That’s right folks. I’m excited. Whether you liked all the movies in the series or not, if you loved the first one, how can you not embrace this next one ๐Ÿ˜€ Why should you? ‘Cuz they’re bringin’ back the original “band”ย  ๐Ÿ˜€

4. This is one of those hypo grats turned grat. A week ago Friday, the storm that blew in to so many states causing damage and power outages, blew out my cpu at work. I’m still waiting for it to be fixed which means I’m still down the hall utilizing an “extra”, not quite updated computer. But hey, at least there’s one for me to use, right? During the week, I’ve had to use yet, other computers to complete certain work. Yesterday, I went into the office for a few hours. This time sitting at our law clerk’s desk so that I could do some processing and scanning. His programs, scanner were different than mine. Can’t say I’m an expert when it comes to Adobe and pdfs and the whole edit docs thing but when working with my programs at myย (now broken) computer, well, easy peasy! Yesterday, did not initially go as planned as the scanner was different, the adobe program/reader was different. I can’t remember the last time I had to do a drag and drop! But yesterday, yesterday I was in that special place that allowed me to figure things out and do a whole bunch of stuff without, seemingly much effort. Cool.

5. Roger (yes, that roger) over to the Secessionist Rag published a post. He, like myself in recent years, has wallowed now and then in the where do I find time and I’m not feeling all that creative anyway place. I’ve always enjoyed his writing whatever the topic as he has a style and ease we have dubbed “armchair easy”. Anyway, head on over and say hey! encourage him to write. Tell him Girlie sent you ๐Ÿ™‚

6. Sinus medicine.

7. Epiphanies. Self-revelation. Cutting the blinders. Letting go. The point at which your body supercedes your brain and allows a feeling of….relinquishment. You fill in the blank. I’m feeling lighter this weekend.

8. Music. Music. Music. Movies. Movies. Movie. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

9. The sounds of Spring even if the temperatures are not exactly Springlike.

10. This day. Opportunity. Challenge. Self-challenge. New beginnings.

Hey, Denise. I am delighted you are able to take over the Six Sentence Story bloghop. I didn’t make it there this week, (I know there is still time, but.I will start again next week at your site). I am anxiously awaiting the new cue. I envy a day when the technology flows. There’s always a glitch or two on any given day around here. Yay, for light later. I was in the Outer Banks this past week and I saw signs of spring. White blooms on the Bradford pears and lovely beach roses. Hope. Happy lighter, days whether due to self-revelation or more daylight hours are much for which to be thankful. See you in the week at the SSS.

Hey Val. Thanks, I’m looking forward to it. It’s always been a fun hop. Yes, post! There is still time:)
Can’t believe I posted a TToT today, Sunday, but hey, later is better than not ๐Ÿ˜€
You and me both. I am constantly trying not to allow technology = math in my head. Never liked math particularly and so have an instant block lol
I saw your pic at the FB. I am so jealous! No doubt they have a jump on us. The beach roses must be beautiful in full bloom. Daylight savings time helps us pretend it’s spring though, right? ๐Ÿ™‚
See you at the SSS! I’ll be posting the cue word tonight ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. While i love the results of the daylight being in the evening, i cannot say i like the process. Whey canโ€™t we just put the clocks in one spot we all agree on and leave them there year โ€˜round?

    Good list!

    • GirlieOnTheEdge · March 11

I agree. I would be very happy to be on daylight savings all year! ๐Ÿ˜€ There had been talk of doing that some years back but there were too many objections. Maybe one day we can get consensus

What a week you have had! Hopefully you will feel at home with your new laptop sooner than later. Oh, and then the damage to the cpu must have caused a major headache. That headache combined with your sinus headache was a bit much, but as you said, you were in the right place to figure some other things out. Yeah, You!
Like you, I love the sounds of spring.
Your #10 is a great way to end your TTOT. Have a great week!

I’m glad it’s over LOL. Thanks, Pat. I’m using it a little more. Been e-mailing links from the old ‘top to the new. That goes a long way to make it more familiar. Haven’t decided if I will switch browser to what I’m used to, Chrome. We’ll see. Being uncomfortable isn’t such a bad thing at times.
Oh, my goodness! Talk about displacement. But I’ve managed. Hopefully, I will find out today when are tech guy can fix it.
      Thanks ๐Ÿ˜€
      Wonderful sounds they are.
It is all about that. Have a great week too and may your hear increasing sounds of Spring ๐Ÿ™‚

Right you are. If I can do it, you sure can, anyone can.

Oh no…not that CPU thing again. I am not big on computers, when they are causing me trouble that is. I love them when they work for me.

I honestly don’t see the big deal about daylight savings, as I enjoyed losing an hour yesterday even. I feel like the only one this doesn’t seem to get to.

Congrats on taking over the SSS, as I’d heard the previous host was struggling to keep holding the reins. I wrote just one SSS, the day my niece was born, but I should and mean to do it again, more, as I can use all the help with my fiction writing as I can get.

Thank you for the encouragement Kerry. I am very behind on reading everyone’s posts!

Yeah, sucks. But it is what it is. Adapt, move on. There can be opportunity even in the aftermath of mishaps and computer mayhem ๐Ÿ™‚

I know not everyone is a fan but good for you for not minding the loss of sleep lol. I’ve heard much grumbling from some folks ๐Ÿ˜€

Thank you. I’m really excited. And a little nervous. I feel honored Zoe saw me fit to take over her “baby” ๐Ÿ™‚
Oh, I hope you do write more 6’s. I can tell you right now, it will help with your fiction writing. When I’ve sat down and managed to write 6 sentences, which is way more difficult than some think, (at least for me!) I find it amazing how long sometimes it takes me to edit. I’ll change a word or phrase and be astounded when I find a better way of expressing the words. Writing 6’s is for me, an excellent vehicle for practice and getting better at writing.

Great list of thankfuls, although I am not so thrilled with the time change, I like the Fall back part better ๐Ÿ™‚

    • GirlieOnTheEdge · March 15

Thank you. Aw…don’t like it lighter later? Not a little bit? ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚
