Soon there will be a TToT…don’t you know…

Good morning. Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge. Intent. Sometimes it manifests as originally conceived and other times it gets hijacked. What do you do then? Run with it baby, run.

It’s all of a Saturday and time to join in the fun of the Ten Things of Thankful blog hop. Hosted by the lovely and magical Kristi of Thankful Me, it appears I was absent the day she invited everyone to Reunion Month. It still being August (I’m hopelessly hoping August can/will last another 6 weeks…) I’m crashing the party.

TF  Quentin Tarantino movies. Who doesn’t love them 😀

TF  For continuing to participate, albeit minimally these last couple of years, in the virtual world. There are so many people I’ve come to know, whose experiences, words of wisdom, creative writing, encourage me.

TF  I’m thankful today is a cloudy day. I was a little afraid to write those words, lol, but it’s true. I have every intention of washing the car today so, since I don’t have shade, cloud cover will do!

TF  Libraries. They are a valuable resource for so many reasons. Access to the internet is a most wonderful thing, but sometimes nothing beats walking around and wandering in a good “old fashioned” brick and mortar library.

TF  Safe travels for family members as they travel the skies and roadways. If you want to read an incredible “damn, that was a close call” story, check out Kristi’s Six Sentence Story. Only you need to click on the link for the full story. And that’s all I’m gonna say!

TF  For co-workers sharing the labors of their garden. Nothing like fresh veggies from the garden 🙂

TF x 2  the Wakefield Doctrine. And Clark, for not only sharing a perspective that has enabled me to make sense of things, of life but also for his example of what the discipline of daily practice and persistence can accomplish.

TF  Kind of a hypo-grat but, thankful that the blood vessel that burst in my eye wasn’t as bad as in the past. Still, damn ugly and weird to have your eye look like it’s bleeding. And why is it always my right eye??

TF  For waking up today. It’s another opportunity. And reminder that any day may be a last opportunity. So what about it? Let’s make it the best day, shall we?…

They are! I’m going to miss fresh vegetables once the season changes.
Thank you. It’s getting less noticeable 🙂

Glad to see you join in on #TToT. I didn’t know that August was some kind of special reunion month there. I only started doing #TToT on July 27 though, so I may’ve missed the invite too.

Your being thankful for waking up this morning shows how you find gratitutde in everyday life – in the mere fact that you’re alive. That’s so totally wonderful!

Thank you Astrid. The TToT has been around since 2013 I believe. Over the years, there’s been many familiar “faces” join in the TToT, and many of those familiar faces haven’t been seen in awhile. The August reunion invite is a lovely way to try and catch up with some of those old faces 🙂
I remind myself everyday. Some days the message might get a little waylaid but I eventually find my way back to it 😀

And Quentin (one of my role models for writing, in this case screen writing. (the other: Joss Whedon))

The Doctrine does help, it acts as a reminder of (the availability) of an alternate perspective, even when we don’t have the energy to step three feet to the left. The fact of it is a value in and of itself.

Impressive he is. Joss I am only familiar with a little. But saw enough Buffy to appreciate.

      100%.

Here’s to your healing and to healthy blood vessels going forth! Libraries, gardens and cloudy days are three of my favorite things in this world.

Thank you, May 🙂 They are wonderful. (maybe not cloudy all the time lol)

Someone I know once had a blood vessel burst in her eye. Scary looking. In her case the doctor told her to stop taking the daily aspirin she had been taking. He thought that might have been the cause of the burst blood vessel. It didn’t happen again, so perhaps he was right. I don’t know. I’m glad that your eye is looking better.
Yes to safe travel of friends and loved ones.
Libraries are great places to explore, although I must admit, I don’t get to our library nearly as much as I did when I was taking kids there, and after the internet became available.

It is very scary looking, especially the first time it happens. Lucky for your friend she hasn’t had another episode. The first one I had was quite a shock and rather a bad one at that. I ended up going to the dr.’s because I had no idea what it was!
I love the internet for the obvious. Like you, I don’t visit the library nearly as often as I once did. Today, I returned some magazines to the library and picked up a book I had on hold. On a whim, I decided to look for a particular book and ended up checking out about 5 books!

If at first we don’t succeed, try, try again, as the saying goes 😀
      Have a very good week!

It’s impossible to crash a party that you are invited to, and you are most certainly invited! (And I’m glad you are here!) I’m not quite magical enough to send invites via owl post, but I think that would have been a better way to get the word out. Please forgive me. (And thank you for that nice shout out re the Six Sentence Story.)

Although I love blue skies, there is something nice about clouds, too, and it is certainly nicer to be under clouds when shade isn’t available.

Sorry about your eye. How frightening!

So right! Oh, I don’t know, you’ve visited the magical kingdom enough times that surely some magic has rubbed off 🙂
You’re very welcome. I aspire to be able to write a compelling story in 6 sentences that engages the reader and sufficiently conveys the intended emotion.

Definitely under those circumstances. I’m sorry to say that while the clouds held, I didn’t get my car washed!

Thanks, it is much better and looked way worse than it felt.

The most basic thing of thankful is your last – getting up each day and being able to start anew, an opportunity that is a blessing. I had one of those eye bleeds last winter. Thankfully, it doesn’t hurt, you just look like a Halloween movie star. Libraries are always good places.

A blessing for sure. Nasty aren’t they. I mean you don’t even know you have it unless you notice it in the mirror or worse, when someone alarmingly asks you “what is wrong with your eye!?” lol
I love your characterization, “Halloween movie star“. Good one 😀
