How many? Let me count the TToTs.

Good Sunday morning and welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge. I’m feeling thankful posting this, this morning as I know there will be a mad rush this evening by some folks like myself, who have suddenly discovered the weekend is drawing to a close lol. I will always advocate for a 4 day weekend 😀

Kristi, of Thankful Me, posts a link every Friday giving us me plenty of time to share in my thankfuls for the week or heck, the thankfuls in general. It’s an exercise well worth the investment of time and more often than not, when I decide to put “pen” to paper, I’ve already forgotten half the thankfuls I’ve noted during the week. Not a bad dilemma to have though. So, let me see what I can retrieve from the memory banks…

TToT  Weather. This past week (with the exception of 1 day) right up until and including today. Gorgeous. Sun. Sun. Sun.

TToT  A great haircut yesterday.

TToT  Having the house to myself today. Nice.

TToT  I’m extremely grateful to be able to say I have established a walking routine/habit. It’s been 8 weeks of consistency now. While once upon a time I walked every day, I came to realize that over the last year, I gradually stopped being so consistent. Got to watch out for that kind of stuff 😀

TToT  As a continuation of #4, I am thankful that my brain is already prepping myself for a new routine/habit….going to the gym. Again! I somehow got out of the habit of going at least 2x a week lol. It’s now or never.

TToT  Music. Access to it. What in the world would life be like without those who make the music we listen to and love. How would we express ourselves.. comfort ourselves.. energize ourselves.. dance….

TToT  A reliable vehicle, a secure job.

TToT  As a continuation of #7, the opportunity given me by a co-worker’s absence. What’s that you say?! Every year, the woman that works at the desk next to mine goes on vacation for a month (good for her!) The thankful is, while I enjoy her company and conversation, it’s been really nice to have my own little “private” work corner.

TToT  Elvis. Yeah, Elvis. As a result of linking to him up there in #4, the ‘Tube is on auto play. So who doesn’t love Elvis, man? Like a river flows….

TToT  This moment. This day. For however long it lasts….

Hm…wherever did MTV get the idea lol

Seems like you really succeeded in making your healthy lifestyle a habit. Congrats on that, I am still working on persuading my brain😏

Thank you V. There are some areas I’ve succeeded in consistently and others….well, let’s just say they’ll always be something that’s a work in progress lol
Don’t give up! Because you’re right. That is the beginning. Persuading yourself you’re ready to commit. Then one day, you decide, this is it. Let’s begin today. And that’s all it has to be. Just one day. Until each of those 1 days becomes many 🙂

I need to catch some of your “consistency and continuation spirit” to walk and to exercise.
It is always such a blessing for a person to have a secure job and a reliable vehicle.
It is amazing how a good haircut can make one feel so much better.

I’ll send some your way 😀
      I agree wholeheartedly.
It felt wonderful! She cut it a little shorter which is good since it’s still so very hot. Not complaining though 🙂

Twenty one days used to be the standard of the length of time necessary to establish a habit. (Would be interesting if that number has increased or decreased in reflection to the change in the pace of life to the present day).

21 days was not sufficient for me. I would imagine the number to have increased given that current day to day pace of living is such that the stress of finding the time to do the thing you want to establish as habit would take longer. Huh. Did that make sense? lol
Short reply: I believe the length of time has increased as a result of our present pace of life. (so why couldn’t I have said that in the first place!)

I sometimes make a TToT note on my phone, because, like you, I tend to forget some of the things I thought of earlier in the week. Or I’ll go back through the photos I took during the week to help jog my memory.

Good job with the exercise routine. One of the reasons I keep signing up for races is so that I’m forced to keep exercising between runs. It’s so easy for me to just jump into the day (well, not exactly “jump,” as that would be exercise. . . ) and neglect to run.

A few times I’ve written notes but mostly I convince myself I won’t forget lol. That’s a good idea. I probably should use my phone for note taking. It’s rare I don’t have my phone either on my person or nearby.

Thank you. It’s been a long time coming. I had to start somewhere. In fact, when I finish this comment, I’ve got to post the link for the Six Sentence Story. I’ve never been this late posting but I had to get a walk in tonight. Circumstances prevented me from going last night so I didn’t want to miss out on the daylight today.
That is discipline in itself. To sign up. Talk about accountability! I agree about how easy it is to simply get right into the day and somehow the exercise part gets pushed to the side. Are you feeling better? Good enough for the race? I haven’t didn’t comment yet but was by last evening to your TToT. I did join in for #9, was it? last evening 🙂 Hope all the positive vibes and prayers did the trick.
