Did someone say Ten Things? It’s a TToT

Hey! So what do you guys think? Do certain people have a proclivity for the “odd” or do “odd” things happen to all of us? Is it simply a matter of noticing them? Subjective perception of the event? You could say, given the person’s worldview (the Wakefield Doctrine), how an event/interaction/experience manifests for an individual will determine how they react to it.  To wit, how I relate myself to the world determines my interpretation of events/happenings and my subsequent reaction. As a clark, I take notice to some events that for lack of proper adjective, I would describe as “weird”. Take for example my experience yesterday at my “new” gym. I finished my workout. Per usual, I signed up for a 10 minute massage on the hydro-bed. Cool. Attached to one side of the bed is a flexible, movable, swing arm holding a screen about the size of a typical laptop. On it, you adjust the speed and pressure of the massage roller. It also shows time elapsed. For some reason, I noticed for the first time there was a “Massage Settings” option (full body, upper body – neck shoulders, lower body) on the left of the main screen. I tapped it, confirmed it was set for full body at my usual Speed 3, Pressure 3, and returned it to the main screen. Take me away Calgon, lol. I closed my eyes, slowed my breathing as the roller moved up and down my body, my mind quieting, total relaxation beginning to take hold. 4 minutes in, eyes still closed, I noticed a significant increase in the volume of the bed/rollers. Within a nanosecond, I felt incredible, painful pressure on my back that sent my eyes flying wide open and catapulted my body up and over to the right. Holy guacamole! I looked at the screen and the pressure read 8 and the speed 7!! So not good for a thin, brittle boned woman such as myself. As the machine roared on, I quickly tapped the screen until it read Pressure 3, Speed 3. A return to normal. All good. Eyes closed, beginning to relax again…see where this is headed? Again! Loud noise, painful rollers on my back, what is the deal?? I pull up the pre-set screen, it reads Pressure 8, Speed 7. ??? I reset, hit activate (again). This time? I would be alert for the sound of pounding, killer rollers. This happened a total of 3 times within 10 minutes. Needless to say, not a relaxing massage, lol At the end of it all, I smiled remembering the tanning bed scene in Final Destination 3. [Heads up: movie clip has some nudity & for sure, it’s gory]
Here’s some thankfuls…

That massage machine sounds like a torture machine! Glad you survived.

We have been seeing the return of some birds too, although I think they may not have been expecting the snow last week.

Yeah for your health and physical mobility and a day off from work.

Up until Saturday, it’s been wonderful! I’m sure it was an isolated incident, lol.
They probably were not. Weather has not been typical or overly predictable this winter. We’ve had some teases of spring recently but winter is not through with us yet 🙂

“I’m sorry, Dave, I’m afraid I can’t do that.” Yikes on that massage!

We are definitely getting more snow here than last winter, but we do see the ground between storms. I’m happy that the snow pack in the mountains are at above-normal levels, so hopefully this summer won’t bring drought conditions again.

    Here’s to good health! 🙂

      That’s too funny 🙂

Seeing the ground in between is a good thing. Gives you some hope that it won’t always be winter!
Fingers crossed there is no drought.

Yes! Hope you are fully recovered!!

Aarrgh… this massage machine really was mean. I prefer your #4, lessons from nature, if possible. And good health always is something to be thankful for.
    Have a great week.

The first time it’s acted up. I can’t help but think maybe I did something I didn’t know I did lol.
Yes, there are always lessons from nature 🙂
I’m so eager for spring and seeing the small birds now gives me hope it’s just around the corner!
      Thank you, Viola. You too.

props to Kristi for the movie line…. excellent.
There is, imo, so much more to the world than we normally perceive… but, I’d agree that see the extra stuff is usually best in moderation. lol

you are not the only one who had odd moments…or maybe we are both odd, and all my friends are odd, but then again I do gravitate to the weird. hmmm, so the question is still unanswered. nevermind.
ah this day, my old day…mine too.

Always nice to know I have company. Don’t know that I gravitate to the weird but I sure can spot it 😀 But then weird is subjective, right?
      Ours, for the doing.
