she’d never been this late before, in fact, she was always there to open the door
to writers come early, writers come late, was it possible she’d put too much on her plate
never a week had she ever been last yet here she was, how many days passed
rule or number, clergy or bird, so much flexibility in this week’s word
finally she sat coffee in hand (still a full pot), the words would come slowly perhaps not
..Cardinal red clouds collided with amber melting sky; I decided there’d be no rain tonight…

Oh, those plates do get full at times, even for the host. Spice is the variety of life, so sometimes we are early and sometimes we are late, but what matters is that we are here, even if it is just in thought and in desire to be so. Enjoyed your Six!
