Love and Instinct. It’s a 6.

Redemption appeared in the guise of a 60 lb honeycomb colored canine whose gentle amber eyes twinkled with starlight innocence, an innocence the woman was convinced was lost to the world. Energy emanated from the dog’s medium size frame, infusing the space around her with a sense of life much larger than the woman thought possible. Friendship offered with the nudge of a wet nose, enthusiastic wag of tail, there were no strings attached, no demands, no contingencies, a simple offering one to the other. Unconditional love the sole requisite, their respective life journey leading them to this crossroad of fate. Silently they stared at each other, a slow recognition that this, this was the “person” they were meant to be with. Emancipation delivered – for dog, from life uncertain in a prison of last resort; for woman from life uncertain in a prison of her own making.

Thanks, Susan! What a happy face, huh? 🙂 No, not mine. Was searching “rescue dogs” on Google images and this happy puppy said “pick me!”

Great acrostic story leading from redemption to emancipation through friendship and unconditional love. Beautiful, Denise.

      Thank you, Pat.
Funny, I wasn’t planning on an acrostic but the story insisted. How could I refuse 🙂
