Post Script. It’s a 6.

Image result for routine

Routine – you wake up one day to realize life has devolved into a series of…routines. You ruminate to the empty auditorium in your brain, routines provide the fabric by which to weave organization and method to accomplish those required tasks intrinsic to daily life.

“Yeah, but” always the resounding echo in the distance..

Make no mistake, like the whispers after a chance meeting with an ex-lover, Routine will seduce you with memories of the past, lull and lure you with the false belief the day is complete and whole if all tasks are accomplished so now, you can have fun, now you can live, now you can enjoy the day. Routine selfishly commands attention so remember to remind yourself – you are the steward of  life, not routine – mix it up a bit every now and again and guaranteed you’ll stumble upon hidden treasures and unexpected rewards.

[Add to today’s “To Do List”: remember routine is the relative minor to the major scale that is life.]

      I like that, Reena – “exotic” 🙂
Have to do something to spice things up, keep our own selves on our toes so we don’t miss out on life!

Love, love, love this! Good reminder that we are the stewards of routine, not the other way around. Huge blessings sent to you ❤ ❤ ❤

Routine is just the scaffold, you are supposed to spend more time building the building than the scaffold for it. Well done six!

Bravo for the six! Wonderful, thoughtful and immersive. ‘You are the steward of life, not routine’ is a good line to hold onto. And I absolutely love it when I ‘stumble upon hidden treasures and unexpected rewards’. 🙂 Thanks for another round of SSS!

This is very good, start to finish. Yes, yes, that fine line between routine and OCD and guilt and compulsion. Mix it up so you remember how to be flexible. Might be an important trait these days.

Thank you, D. Avery. Priorities, pleasures and routines. I believe we often confuse them believing the accomplishment of one enhances the completion of something else which in turn produces a sense of entitlement?

Routines can be either a blessing or a curse, I suppose. Good for structure and foundation; potentially dangerous when we rely on them too much and cannot vary or grow. Excellent music choice, yo.

For sure. The trick is to recognize when the routine has become more important than the life it purports to be helping to (fill in the blank) 😀

I don’t know about you but major was never my kind of scale.

    • GirlieOnTheEdge May 13, 2023 / 11:25 pm

No, you are definitely not a major scale kind of guy 😉
Everyone knows… minor scales are the best!
