Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and Sunday’s prompt word reveal for Six Sentence Stories!
What is writing? What does it represent to you? How does it manifest for you? Why do you write? These are questions we’ve all asked of ourselves at one point or another. Over the years, the answers no doubt have evolved. So to what end now, do we do this thing, writing? In the immediate, in this very place? It is to challenge ourselves as writers to create a landscape, give life to characters, paint scenes, wax poetic, in 6 sentences or less. Simple, but not always easy, eh? (well, maybe sometimes, lol) Be well, be safe, be writing often and we’ll see each other back here, usual time 😀
Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Come back here on Thursday, link your post…
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers 🙂
PROMPT WORD: IDENTITY
“The writer can grow as a person or he can shrink. … His curiosity, his reaction to life must not diminish. The fatal thing is to shrink, to be interested in less, sympathetic to less, desiccating to the point where life itself loses its flavor, and one’s passion for human understanding changes to weariness and distaste.” – Norman Mailer
