Paradise is closer than you think. It’s a 6.

Since when did they insist on locking the doors to sadness…

She sat, staring over the frosted, umbrella-ed cocktail, beaded drops of water slowly making their way onto the cork coaster below, distant gaze reaching beyond the frameless window of the beach side bar. She’d never been to the Gulf side of the state even though for years she’d heard stories of bluest of blue waters and fairy white sands, where pockets of escape dotted the coastline.

Sorrowful perhaps, hers was not an unusual story and she knew in her heart, broken as it was, Rumi would tell her, this too shall pass. She stood, staring down at the room temperature umbrella-ed cocktail, the cork coaster having had its fill, and looked with anticipation, outward.

Since when did they insist comfort couldn’t be found in sunshine, sand and the vast clear blue…

Very good. I go out side every day and walk. And I’ve spent a good amount of time watching condensation slide down a glass and drench a coaster. Hmmmm.
    Good six.

Thanks, Paul. Excellent. Me too. I’ve been walking for years but since working remotely these last weeks, they’re even longer, which I love 🙂
Yeah, solace is more often found outside of ourselves and the beach is at the top of my list!

The smell of the ocean, gently crashing waves, sun… Yeah. That’s it alright 🙂

You’re welcome–for a minute I thought it was the new prompt, “paradise”. Too eager, this fan of 6SentenceStory! 🙂

Hope you are going soon, although everyone has been having such roller coaster weather. Of course, that doesn’t ever stop anyone from going to the shore, now does it, lol
      Thank you, Lisa 🙂

To me there’s nothing better than the sight, the sound and the smell of the sea. Our beaches are closed at the moment and I miss it. You brought it that little bit closer today and I thank you for that Denise 🙂

I love what you did with the droplets making their way to the coaster, the coaster having its fill…beautifully detailed. I love when a writer gives life to those often-missed details.
