Why am I compelled to dance when I hear Natalie singing songs en francais?
Why is it I soften and dissolve with the first inhalation of ocean salt air?
Why am I easily lured, held hostage by some books and not others?
Why am I overcome with a sense of freedom at the onset of a road trip?
Why is it “heavy metal” is my happy music?
Fortunate I am for an infinite number of oasis that populate my day to day desert…
You provide so many answers with these questions, these fine and provocative six sentences.

lured, held hostage by some books and not others. . . so true! Love that.

The narrator is rich with all these joys, and even richer for being aware of them as the joys they are.
Can’t beat an anticipated road trip to somewhere… Allez, c’est parti, allons-y, Alonso!
“Why is it “heavy metal” is my happy music?” Great line and I agree 🙂 \m/

Always the simple, the little, things.
No, you can’t 😀
That you agree surprises me not \m/ (oh my god, can’t shake the Yoda thing today 🤣)

Haha, now you mention, would love to hear Yoda contributing to a SSS 😂
In the meantime, safe trips to you, and (in Yoda voice): ‘Rock ‘n roll long live! Hm.’

Fabulous! Dave and I went to Nuits de Nacre Accordion Festival, Tulle in 2016. It pored with rain but it was still amazing.

Thank you, Laurie 🙂 What a cool festival! The accordion is a unique instrument – pretty wild how it can just as easily convey romance as high energy party time 😀 Too bad it rained but kudos on not letting it stop you and Dave from enjoying.

Ditto on the “some I’ll never read”, lol. Agreed. It is alright 🙂
Thanks, Paul. And thank you for coaxing me to look up the song. Never knew who performed it!

Your posts are intriguing because they show me a world I somehow missed…music, etc 🙂 I know, I’m more like Bedelia than you thought, hahaha!! 🙂

Thanks to technology you can “catch up” mighty quickly 😉 Music, as you’ve gleaned, figures prominently in my world. When words fail, there is music. And…when they don’t fail, there is music! That tells me Bedelia will be breaking out some “dancing” shoes very soon 🎼

Yes, technology…curse and blessing, the latter including music 🙂 Interesting that you should mention Bedelia dancing…”she” does a LOT of that in the privacy of her home, haha! 🙂 And perhaps Finn will catch her, and join in before too long 🙂

Love the music you shared. It makes me want to dance too.
I can so relate to four of the five oases you shared. (By choice heavy metal has never made it into my playlists.)
Such a lovely poetic closing line.

Aha! I say, grab Vic (or not!), put on some tunes and take a spin or two around 🙂
Don’t ask me how I know this, Pat, but I do believe there is some heavy metal music for which you would find an appreciation 😀
Thank you.

Heavy metal is from my generation. I like the choices from that time. The video was festive! Well expressed, flowing six.

That song! So seductive. She could have been singing anything, but in French? Oo la la!
My happy play list is my retro 70s and 80s playlist on spotify.
Heavy metal should be listened to in the car, windows down, hair blowing.
Most excellent six, sis!

Nothing like 70’s and 80″s music 😎
Yeah, that works.
Thanks, sis!

Good point, Frank. The closer we get to our destination, the less the feeling of “suspended time” 🙂
