Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and another edition of Six Sentence Stories!
Pulled up the “Tube. Reliable go-to for inspiration. Sure ’nuff, as I kept scrolling, pointer partway past midpage, my mouse came to rest on the destined selection. The music? Etta James & B. B. King performing “There’s Something on Your Mind.” Title, if nothing else, is most fitting. Within these virtual walls, inside this café littéraire, there is much on our minds. We gather each week to share these “somethings” in the form of flash fiction, poetry (or combination thereof), scenes from an our latest serial or a simple stream of consciousness (“soc”). Our challenge? To tell a story in exactly 6 sentences. Simple enough, sure. Easy? At times. Consider: the coolest aspect of writing a Six is mining for the proper combination of words, arranging them amongst appropriate punctuation so as to elicit a smile, straight out hard laughter, quiet amusement, a moment of awe… Whatsay? You in?
Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
