I’ll Meet You in the Metaverse. It’s a 6.

center of the universe you spin, without exception a force centripetal, never centrifugal

Spinning, spinning, spinning, velocity’s increase incognito, obscured by self hurtling towards black hole growing

witness stars gone dark, where light extinguished shines no more, you choose to wonder

If the past holds significance, or history is better left undisturbed, clouded by nothingness, cloaked in disease

lay bare the subterfuge, reality’s mass smashing against the brick of denial, splitting into atoms

Universe collapsed, vanquished, vanished, remnants prevail, stellar death transformed

Indeed, C.E. At a rate that appears to accelerate when we would least want it to.

Wow, wow, wow, Denise! Words to be read out loud, (loudly, of course) as I just did. I find myself reeling, spinning… Thinking about the immensity of the universe has that effect on me. The tune fits perfectly too.

Thank you, Chris! For reading aloud. I’m happy my words transported you, if only for a moment.
The Church’s album Starfish was one of my favorites once upon that time 🙂

Why, thank you Clark. I hope I’m able to continue to do just that.

Magnificent, D. I like how you constructed this in an abstract way, strings, flashes, forces, connections, and with the colours – I felt like I was looking into a nebula.
    “Spinning, spinning, spinning” 😎
The Church track is a top choice to harmonise your poem, and I also had Soundgarden’s ‘Black Hole Sun’ come through.

Thank you, V. Abstract, pseudo soc piece for sure. I was disappointed in only basic color choices as I was trying to emote through the graduation of colors from the color wheel. Excellent it evoked images of a nebula!
When we spin, we spin 😎
Oh, man! Black Hole Sun. Yes, I can hear that.
Bit of trivia. A friend of mine and I almost (why didn’t we?!?) go see Chris perform a solo acoustic set in MD in 2016. Wish we’d followed through on that…

Aw, damn shame about missing that gig, D. It was the same for me with a gig waaay back in the 90s with Lenny Kravitz before he hit the big time. We had every chance to go but ditched at the last minute. Oh well 🙂

It took a few times reading it to take it all in but that’s a good thing because you made me think 🙂 I really (really!) liked the middle of this: sentences 3 & 4 & 5. Good song choice, too.

I’m glad, Michael. It’s rare I write (publish) pieces that are as “abstract” as this one but every now and then, well – got to let loose, eh? 🙂
Very cool those are your favorite lines as they hold special significance for me.
As I write this, I’m listening to “Destination” from the same album. Check it out when you’re in the mood for mellow.

Listening to it now and I’m about halfway through and I’m not sure I’ve understood one line LOL!

And yeah, gotta let loose every now and then.

I am finding myself between watching Tenet, your six & Ford’s; all happening between 48hrs!
So, you can imagine that the “coctail” served is at least transcendent- like your six!!
    Thank you.

I’m humbled to be included in such a potent “coctail”; that you enjoyed my bit of Six.
I’ve not yet watched Tenet so thank you back Spira, for reminder to do so! Chris is at the top of my list along with Robert Rodriguez and Quentin T.

Wow, sis! Just wow! I’m picturing a person who believes he/she is that center of the universe, drawing others (friends, lovers?) into the black hole. Love it!

Hey, D! You’re spot on. That was pretty much what sentence 1 was about but then… it evolved into something at the opposite end of the spectrum.
      Thank you, sis!
