Sunday’s Six Sentence Story Word Prompt!

Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and Sunday’s prompt word reveal for Six Sentence Stories!
This morning, my body was slow to awaken. Sluggish, all comfy under a 20lb blanket, it whispered “hey, don’t get up just yet“. Eyes still closed, I grabbed my phone, put both JBuds in my ears and hit play. “Get Up” by Shinedown. While not what I would have expected to choose as wake up music (think Metallica, Maiden, or Skid Row), it worked. I slept walked (real word??) to tell Mr. Coffee it was time to go to work and found myself thinking of days long ago and far away when, loud, heavy music always accompanied me in the morning. What’s my point Sixers? I’m easily distracted and have a feeling some of you are as well. Lack of focus? Depends on perspective, right? Lack of discipline? (in my case…sometimes!) Imo, it’s more of an indulgence in exploring the breadcrumbs that come with our first “search” on the Google. It may be for a story. Or simple curiosity. My search this a.m. ended when I found myself at a New Year’s Day post from 2015. As writers, we travel our own timelines, current day experiences, books read, film, art. All influence our writing. Who and what influence your writing? As current curator of Six Sentence Stories, I extend an open invitation each week to link a story, poem, musing or scene from an ongoing serial. Our creative selves are gateways. To what places and people and situations? Tell us. In 6 sentences exactly. Let’s travel together on adventures and journeys, introspections and observations. Tell me – is not writing the coolest thing?! Be cool (I know, “Get Shorty” was better) and write a Six.

Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Link up at Wednesday’s post. Link goes live at 6:00 pm through Saturday late…
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers 😀

PROMPT WORDEXPLORE

I have no idea who the characters are, later, their personalities take over anything I might want to do. I end up writing not from my own will, but from theirs – they come alive as I write and make me do things that I couldn’t have planned.” – Akira Kurosawa
