“Holy shit damn!.. hang on baby, we’re goin’ for a ride!”
As the huge fireball filled the rear view of the Humvee, Jaya hit the gas like Ken Miles at le Mans; as the military vehicle cornered on 2 wheels, ravenous red orange flames licking its bumper, elation spread across her face like the raging inferno consuming the warehouse behind them, now a literal island of fire; it was then she realized there were some perks to surviving a post-apocalyptic world.
“Damn! did you see those rabids? never knew what hit ’em …. hey Ry, you ok over there?”
White knuckled left hand gripping the outer edge of the leathered passenger side seat, right on the grab handle above, Ryan turned towards Jaya, doe-caught-in-the-headlight eyes focused on the woman behind the wheel and wondered when she’d turned Furiosa – “uh, good yeah, thank you…but…how…um like…what just…?“
Her laughter cascaded out of the Humvee’s open windows; for a second, Ryan wondered if something in Jaya had snapped, if she’d gone crazy – this was, but not, the same woman he’d been on the road with going on 2 years . One would think under the circumstances, you’d get to know someone pretty well while trying to avoid raving monsters determined to rip you to shreds and eat you.
Hell yeah!! 🔥🔥🔥
Like the time traveling montage…told you it’s an opera!
Just managed to get a glimpse of Eddie ( from Killers?) before the stupid software blacks out the video #$$@!’
(Bet you cracked a smile when you read ” Waiting for the “island” episode…fire!!! ”
A lot of fires!! The Heat is on! 👏

LOL
Thanks, Spira. Yeah, I’m getting that now 🙂
Yes. Killers. And Eddie of old. So cool. Can still see a giant size Eddie on stage at their concerts. Nothing like metal concerts in the ’80s. Most excellent. As much as I’ve loved Bruce since he took over after Killers, Paul’s voice will always represent the ultimate metal vocalist of the day.
You didn’t miss a vid, it was audio with still of album cover.
(I did! Thank you for the inspiration. All you 😎)

Speaking of Bruce, listen at the 9’21” of The Parchment.
He pulled at the age of 63 a 12″ metal cry, the likes of it I haven’t heard since the opening of the Hallowed be thy name !!!😎

I just listened. Bruce. Damn! I’m embarrassed to say Spira, I’ve not purchased the CD yet but it will be added to collection posthaste.
And.. I’ll admit, whilst being so into Maiden from my younger days, I lost a little something when Adrian left. Call it youthful rebellion at the dissolution of 1 of my favorite “dualing” guitarist teams (other ones Glenn & K.K.) Wasn’t ready to accept Janick and so would listen only to the “old” stuff, lol. I return to the fold 😁
…Hallowed Be Thy Name – Number of the Beast tour. WHAT. A. CONCERT. It was (insert appropriate expletive) incredible.

Perfection. This reads like an action packed movie, but better, because the written/read word is always better.

Thank you, D! Glad it grabbed you. Alas, ’tis true. As huge a fan of film that I am, I agree. Written/read word surpasses.

Action packed with a great touch of humour. Wonderful! The movie reel is playing in my head: Very Vividly. 🔥

Thank you, Chris! I’m glad I was able to convey both 🙂
I admit, have not watched start to finish but will now rectify that 😉

The opportunity to get rid of those rabids does sound like a perk for those surviving all of that and I hope they do survive.

You can say that again, Frank!
Excellent chance they will – they’ve got a fighting spirit and…they have Seven 🙂

Sigh of relief, even while wondering what’s gotten into her. It gets into all of us, i think, when the moment comes to shine.

You’re absolutely right about that although I suspect she’s had it in her all along 🙂

Thank you, Clark. Yes, trying the “wide angle” approach. Perhaps discover more about the characters and their story in the process.

Totally cinematic, D, and can dig the ref to Furiosa for sure 😎
I like Jaya’s evolution seen from the POV of Ryan. Video shows as ‘unavailable’ but can tell it was early Maiden. Killers was my first album of theirs then Number of the Beast. Awesome days discovering that band!

Thank you, V. Knew you would 😎
Strange those “unavailables”. Song was Wrathchild. And just a still of the cover. I still have my concert tee from the Beast tour 😁

Yes, YouTube lately doesn’t work well showing vids depending what part of the world you live in it seems. Your last one for the priest origin story said ‘unavailable in your country’. Maybe due to legal rights between US and EU.
Hey, cool you still have your Wrathchild tee 😎 The only surviving tee I have from back in the day is my Nirvana “Fudge-Packin'” one. Bit faded, but still there. I did have my Anthrax Spreading The Disease tour tee and two Metallicas up to a few years back but had to retire them. Do you still have other tees from back in the day? I had so many but they all wore out from overuse, lol. Give me a black tee shirt to wear and I’m happy 🙂

I imagine that is the reason, V.
Except I cut off the sleeves, lol. Wish I hadn’t. Hang on to it! Have you looked at some of the prices online for original concert tee shirts?? Crazy. I didn’t buy a shirt from every show. Wish I had 😀 So I’m left with a couple Maiden shirts, a Cinderella (Still Climbing), Rolling Stones and an awesome Johnny Winter shirt which an acquaintance literally took off and gave me – as in “he gave me the shirt off his back”. No doubt they did, V. Can’t go wrong with a black t 😎

Cool you have some tees left over, D. Love the ‘shirt off the back’ story 😁
Yes, the prices online for vintage tees are hefty aren’t they!
