Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and another edition of Six Sentence Stories!
Have we gathered our charcoal sticks, our pencils, pens and markers? Have we the watercolors and the oils? Perhaps your screen, like mine is (still) blank, an eager palette hungry for the first stroke. The first keystroke to begin our story or poem or scene from a continuing serial story. Whatever you create this week, we invite you to share it here at Six Sentence Stories. Use this week’s prompt word, write a piece in exactly 6 sentences, link it per instruction below and voilà! Let the travels begin.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: My apologies in advance. I’ve been in the Northeast. A storm in the early morning hours caused power/internet outages. I’m hoping by tomorrow morning all will have been restored. If not, I shall venture forth in search of internet access! I’m looking forward to reading everyone soon!
Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Link the URL to your post via the blue “Click here to enter” button below.
Link is live Wednesday 6:00 PM, ends way late Saturday night!
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers 😀
PROMPT WORD: KEEPSAKE
“The progress of any writer is marked by those moments when he manages to outwit his own inner police system.” – Ted Hughes
Back at last… another power outage. More on the way so my responses may be patchy.

Good morning, Chris. You too?! All restored as it should be earlier this morning. Yippee!
Your outage? Any way to know when repairs will be made?
Fingers crossed you’re back “online” soon.

We have ‘rolling blackouts’ across the country when too many things break at the ageing, ill-maintained power stations. They can start without warning at anytime, but once Eskom announce them, we know what time they’ll occur – 2 hours at a time, between once to 4 times a day – I even have an app on my phone for it, and I’m not an app fan! We’ll be off again this time tomorrow 😔 but it should be fine on Monday… we have elections!

Oh my, Chris. Considering the dependence we all have on access to the internet, not a good thing. That is one aspect of infrastructure I would hope is upgraded sooner rather than later. Having said that, if you have an app for it, doesn’t sound as if a “fix” is anywhere in the near future. Of course it will be fine for the elections. Amazing that, eh?!

No power outages here but having a ‘mare with WP keep refusing my comments when logged in to Atomic Mage and telling me to sign in at TVTA. Okay, when I do, it tells me the comment can’t be posted because of an identical one previously posted… 😕 lol. If it keeps on will contact a Happiness Engineer.
Hope you all weather the real storms!

Good luck with those ‘Happy’ people Ford. WP seems to be doing some odd things recently.
Our power problems aren’t weather-related though. Down to our failing electrical infrastructure (this is Africa).

That is a conundrum, V! Best of luck with the “Happiness Engineers”. I’ve never had too success with them 😉
Your issue sounds familiar with one Clark has had on occasion.
Don’t know yet how Chris is faring however, in RI, nature’s storm has been weathered.
