Like 4000 volts of electricity running through a transformer, she felt her body come to life. Bringing the mug to her mouth again, she closed her eyes and drank more of the black gold. No, not “Texas tea” she chuckled to herself, this, no this was her favorite flavor go-go juice for time being, New England Donut Shop. She glanced up at the clock, actual real time (as opposed to the time in her head) sent shock waves through her body. Hit me up again, Mr. Coffee. (mimicking the GOAT) she shouts at the waking world – “LET’S GO“!
Not bad!
(For those who are deprived of more than a ‘What-was-that-dream’ micro-moment before hitting the metaphorical bricks of the ‘real’ world: this Six was like the half-ticket stubs, crumpled brochures and fraying memory of the other ‘three-halfs’ of reality.)
Fun Six
oh yeah,

Most excellent analogy. Like that for sure.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Yes, yes you are sir! Frist!

Ha! Now i know what Texas Tea is. Thank you.
What a fun description of what I suspect is the universal morning experience of those young enough still to go out to work – or to have to get other people out to work.
‘Actual real time as opposed to time in her head…’ Another universal concept.
your story made me smile in recognition, Denise.
PS The local roastery in my new home produces Rocket Monkey – it’s good! 😉

You’re welcome!
Thanks, Jenne. Indeed. Routine is pretty much the same in that coffee is always first order of the day, lol
Then you know of what I speak 🙂
Excellent name – makes me chuckle. I’ve no doubt it is one of their more “robust” coffees 🙂

Bravo for the ode to coffee, D 😎 “Black gold” is right, count me in as a prospector and addict… no, not an addict… it’s a dependency, lol. I’m spoiled here as we have multiple good coffees… but I can’t wait to get to Italy to try some of the super good stuff!
All hail the go-go juice (and something told me you might mention that in your Six – and you did not disappoint!) 😊

Thank you, V 😎 You’re right! It is more dependency, and how, lol That’s right! You’ve mentioned going there. Soon? You’ll have to bring a stash of the “magic” beans back with you when you leave.
All hail the go-go juice 😄

Donuts and coffee – they used to be my favorite food group. I still like the coffee.

I never thought of the two as a food group but it kind of makes sense! How could you not, Frank 😉

And here was I thinking Texas tea was just oil (thanks to the Beverly Hillbillies) but then I consulted Lord Google. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_tea A hootenanny of a Six.

Dammit, Denise! I should have read this earlier in the day. Now it’s far too late to me to satisfy that craving for coffee you’ve created, else I’m awake all night 😉

Lol. Yes, afraid it is rather late in the afternoon…(she writes while drinking coffee, 7 or so hours in Chris’s past 😉)

Chris’ comment reminded me of my mother bringing me cups of coffee as I was studying for the university exams; she thought that this way she would prolong my study time into the night but alas, if it’s time to go to sleep, I will go to sleep regardless 😆
Till now I can still have a cup of coffee late in the evening and go to sleep; the only thing that changed is that my love for the black juice ( the darker the better) has deepened immensely!
Loved it Denise!
And if I may say, it smelled as it should also!!

What a good mom! When the body knows, the body knows, lol
Still to this day, I am in awe of those who can do that. I’ll admit, there is a line in the bean dust beyond which I cannot cross or I will have little to no sleep. As to enjoying the darker side? Don’t know that I have sufficient stomach lining left to sustain it 😄 Dare I presume you drink it straight up?
Thank you, Spira!
Excellent, good to hear that!
(you do what you have to do…😎)

You are again correct in your presumption!
Ever since I stopped adding sugar, the full flavor of coffee was revealed to me.(enjoying the darker site… when you are a writer with a sharp pen!!)
