Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and another edition of Six Sentence Stories!
What are we without imagination? Without humor? Can you even picture that? (a bit frightening, isn’t it, lol) We, who hang at the Six Sentence Café and Bistro, who enjoy chatting up our Sixes with the other patrons or utilizing the stage for the occasional performance art piece, we, are writers who enjoy creative challenge. It’s why we return each week with Six Sentence Story in hand. Our challenge: write a story, a poem, the next scene in our book or serial, or perhaps an amusing tale for the ages and write it in precisely 6 sentences. Repeat after me – “6 sentences. No more. No less.” If you’ve only recently stumbled across this establishment, welcome! House rules are posted below. For the regulars, well, you know what to do. Doors open this evening 6:00 PM EST US.
Read you soon 🙂
Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.

PROMPT WORD: SHELTER
“Imagination was given to man to compensate him for what he is not; a sense of humour to console him for what he is.” – Francis Bacon

Here’s mine, Denise 🙂 https://poetryifnothingelse.wordpress.com/2022/01/20/shelter-6-sentence-story/
I still can’t do the Linky thing, so I’ll just leave my note here…by the way, Bedelia and Finn are alive and well somewhere, but no closer to the matrimonial altar. I so hope you are well, my dear ❤ Blessings to you ~ Zelda.

Sh…. Shelter?
I spent all day struggling to put together a short story for the six sentence story and I… I USED THE WRONG WORD! I somehow fell 2 weeks behind and was writing for Express!
This is a “Khaaaaaaaaaaan!” moment if I’ve ever had one! Except, I’m the villain. My own brain and observational awareness are the Khaaaaaaans that killed my Spock!
If anyone needs me, I’ll be cured up in my refrigerator…
