Sunday’s Six Sentence Story Word Prompt!

EDITOR’S NOTE:  See what I’m talking about? 🤣 Hang on. Will be back with a word. Unless! One of you astute writers have a word you’d like us to use this week? Quick. Leave a comment and first person makes a suggestion before I re-post with prompt word, we’ll use your word!!

EDITOR’S NOTE: Spira be the man of the hour! May I present this week’s prompt word!

*************************************

Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and Sunday’s prompt word reveal for Six Sentence Stories!
You know the phrase “burning the candle at both ends”? Not sure what qualifies it as a valid circumstance, but at least for this morning… I’m claiming it! Groggily deciding to multi-task, I put chicken breasts for this week’s salads in the pan to cook, gave Mr. Coffee a big ole drink of water, and popped in the filter. Then I went back upstairs. Deciding sufficient time had elapsed, I proceed to go downstairs; halfway down it hit me – odd I only smelled garlic and chicken. There was no hint of coffee aroma. Never made the connection, lol. I’m sure you’ve realized what I did, or rather, didn’t do. And so I began again and put coffee grounds in the basket. Huh. Begin again. How many times in our writing do we do the same thing? Not necessarily forgetting an important component, but scribbling along and realize, “hey, this is not what I wanted to write!” We may or may not begin again. Or, we follow the thread, the unexplored trail. Is it not incumbent upon us, as writers, to explore the unknown? Six Sentence Stories. It’s a blog hop, a writing challenge, a venue where writers gather each week sharing their explorations.
6 sentences at a time. Feel me here, people? We’re writers. It’s what we do.

Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Link up at Wednesday’s post. Link goes live at 6:00 pm through Saturday late…
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers 😀

Either my eyesight is failing me or the prompt word fell into that empty coffee filter😆

Lol…I thought you forgot the word on purpose. Like the whole blog was the prompt…to make the point.

Gotta love you, Denise–you are a Gem!!! And still human like the rest of us, Hallelujah!! Of course I love the prompt word, oh yeah! And I gifted a blogger I hadn’t met before with your 6SS link–told him he’d be very welcome here 🙂 Blessings on your week, my dear! ❤ Zelda (who got brave enough to show her face!)

Zelda invited me here. Looks interesting. Not sure exactly where to link it up at. I’m a bit confused, but that’s a pretty common occurrence with me.

Redemption is a great prompt, now to decide from the many stories I have to choose from. My life is full of redemption.

Hi Matt. Welcome to Six Sentence Stories! You don’t link up on this post. Sunday’s post is when I give everyone the prompt word.
Wednesday night is when I publish a post that contains the Inlinkz link for everyone to begin linking the urls to their Sixes.

Glad you like it! Look forward to reading your Six.

Back when I was doing the Sunday RDP prompts I made up a long list of possible prompt words. Maybe one of these will come in handy when you need a word someday:
formula, shortage, decompose, pester, exasperate, obdurate, incognito, malleable, outspoken, chutzpa, scathing, covering, navigate, strawberry. chisel.

Am I missing the boat? Oh well, I used the random word generator, “rambunctious”

Ah, yes, I see what’s happened. Redemption will do very nicely. Thanks, Spira!
Oh, and cooking and writing do not mix for me at all. Once I’m writing, I forget about everything else until the smell of something burning assaults my nose. Cremated quiche, anyone?

Despite momentarily losing your hold on your timeline, you have surely redeemed yourself. And, to Mr. S! You are the best of us all* The agency, this week, of our collective redemption, sir.

damn! Almost forgot; I treble-read the comments, seems like no one has claimed all the pun. Thank god Doug hasn’t been by yet…. has he?!!

Shit. I’ll be in the storeroom counting the pretzels…
