Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and Sunday’s prompt word reveal for Six Sentence Stories!
Whew! What a week, eh? And it seems the engines are revving once again so hang on! One of the many things I love about Six Sentence Stories is the suspension of time. In any long established community, people may come and go. Like family members who live out of state, visiting only on the odd year holiday, folks who participate at the Six, well, you’re like that. We may read you week after week (which we love!) or you might show up every other Thursday or heck, just for holidays. Doesn’t matter. Time is irrelevant. Not here, not at the Six Sentence Café and Bistro. The invitation stands. You are cordially invited to join us this week and write 6 and precisely 6 sentences. Of what? Author’s choice – fiction, science fiction or fantasy. It may be poetry or philosophical musings, perhaps a spot of “soc”. Bring a crime drama or detective story, whatever’s been tickling your muse lately. Come back and see us beginning Wednesday evening, time posted below, and we’ll start rocking the joint. Speaking of! One of us has a special event coming up this Friday. Word on the street it’s a book launch for Chris! See her about the details. In the meantime, we look forward to reading your Six Sentence Stories. (Psst…don’t be spilling the beans but I heard there’s gonna be an after party for her at the SSC&B.) Enjoy your week and keep on writing!
Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Link up at Wednesday’s post. Link goes live at 6:00 pm through Saturday late…
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers 😀
PROMPT WORD: BOOK
“Nothing great is created suddenly, any more than a bunch of grapes or a fig. If you tell me that you desire a fig, I answer you that there must be a time. Let it first blossom then bear fruit, then ripen.” – Epictetus
Nice pitch!
Booked for the book..vroom vroom

Oh so many possibilities, this is going to be a fun Six. I almost want to write multiple Six’s.

There are so many possibilities! Go for it Matt. Romi linked up 2 Sixes last week and some of the other Sixarians have been known to write one in the beginning of the week and then come back later in the week to link up another. If you’re in the zone, you’re in the zone 😀

I was afraid it was going to be some awful terrible word that I would have to use a dictionary to find the meaning.
Lucky this time round. 🙂

Probably all the books that will be mentioned in this weeks SSS will come in a brown paper bag. A mixed bag of XXX reading.

Well, that’s a gift of a word, wrapped up in brown paper or boxed up by the printers (hope the copies arrive in time). Methinks someone around here might have ‘accidentally’ jammed a sliver of celluloid into the random word generator…🙏😉
