Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and Sunday’s prompt word reveal for Six Sentence Stories!
I feel as if I’ve done you a disservice, please accept my apologies. See, there’s been a voice in the back of my mind whispering “it’ll be alright, they’ll understand“. Full disclosure? I’ve been down for the count since March 8 with what has been identified as a “rotator cuff disorder”. Needless to say, some of you may identify with the enormity of pain involved, which then affects everything else, most notably the ability to sleep. I am thankful today for feeling the most “normal” since pre March 8. My hope? You will afford your humble host consideration for being late to your Sixes these last 2 weeks (still working on last week’s!) All that being said, let me ask you 🙂 – does this mean I should re-celebrate my birthday? The famous saying is “beware the Ides of March”. Little did this Sixarian realize what that day would bring, lol. Interruptions. We all have them. Life is full of them. How we deal with them is paramount, imo, to the success or not of their resolution. Which brings us back to Six Sentence Stories. Yes, it’s a blog hop. Yes, it’s a writing challenge. It is also opportunity. You guys know what I’m talking about. Join us this week? Again? For the first time? The word below – use it somehow in a story or piece of poetry. Use it in the next scene from an ongoing work. Use it in a work that causes us to laugh. In 6 sentences. Exactly. Enjoy your week. We’ll read you soon!
Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Link up at Wednesday’s post. Link goes live at 6:00 pm through Saturday late…
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers 😀
PROMPT WORD: HARMONY
“I like libraries. It makes me feel comfortable and secure to have walls of words, beautiful and wise, all around me. I always feel better when I can see that there is something to hold back the shadows.” – Roger Zelazny, Nine Princes of Amber
Yes! Re-celebrate your birthday. The joy will turn back the hands of time, make what is old (rotator cuff) become new.
At least, it’s worth a shot!

I can relate to that pain in the rotator cuff. I have microtears in mine and a SLAP tear also. I had the slap repaired before, but it reinjured. Life around you should always come first, and we will be here waiting for you when you are able to get back to us 🙂 Never feel like you have let us down, because we all have our moments! Have a great week!

I looked up SLAP tear. Poor EM! I’m so sorry it’s reinjured. Seems it’s easy to do.
Thank you ❤️
Have a great week, too!

Thanks for the care, Girlie! It was very easy to reinjure. I just pulled on a box, and it popped again. Big hugs, and hope your shoulder feels better soon ❤

Be like QE2 and have a second birthday when you’re ready, D. In the meantime, be assured you have all the sympathy in the world. Hope the pain calms down soon. 🤗

Hope the healing of your rotator cuff is progressing nicely.
I used the prompt word to create a Sijo, which I can’t share because I entered it in a competition. I’ll share the link to the competition in case anyone else would like to have a crack at it.

Hello…I’m fairly new to your weekly prompt. As I read your story all I could think of was
‘no need to apologize’ ~ ‘ take care of yourself first’.
A torn rotator cuff is truly painful (can relate) and best to be cautious and follow doctor’s orders.
For me a cortisone shot brought me near instant relief from the pain ~ then followed weeks of physical therapy and learned twas best not to overdue / overreach.
Sending prayers to you for a speedy recovery and definitely ‘yes’ celebrate your birthday a second time. 🙂

Hello…yes, I remember 🙂
Oh, and how. I am being “obedient”, lol. I had heard a cortisone shot would bring that instant relief and that was in part why I chose to get one only I didn’t begin feeling the effects until 5 days later.
I appreciate your encouragement. I did get an order for PT. Been to 1 session so far.
Thank you and THANK YOU! I will have to make proper plans 😀
Btw, please stop by yesterday’s post. I provide the link for the hop in Wednesday’s post. You should link the URL to your Six so everyone will see you wrote one and hopefully pay you a visit!
Please let me know if you have difficulty linking. Going out for a walk now but will be back soon. Let’s link your Six!
