Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and Sunday’s prompt word reveal for Six Sentence Stories!
As I await the transmutation of water and coffee grounds, my mind sets to the business of gearing up for another week of Six Sentence Stories. Such was the participation last week, yours truly will be loungin’ like Guru, as I read the rest of your Sixes. Which reminds me – writer participation has been awesome so in case you hadn’t realized, our Six Sentence Stories have been carrying over to Page 2. The brass tacks of the SSS? A weekly writing challenge, you are charged with writing a 6 and only 6 sentence story, poem, next installment in your serial or a bit of soc, and returning here, to GirlieOnTheEdge, beginning Wednesday evening and link the URL to your Six. For those of you daring enough to venture to the other side of town to a certain Café, we look forward to more Tales from the Six Sentence Café and Bistro. Which reminds me – there is no limit on the number of Six Sentence Stories you may link each week. If your muse works overtime, then please, return any time between Wednesday evening and Saturday o’late and link a 2nd or even 3rd Six! The more the merrier. We hope you’ll join us for another week of storytelling and conversation. Listen, I’ve got to run but you guys take your time. The Six Sentence Café and Bistro never closes and who knows, you might just find yourself writing your next Six there. Be well. Write often. Don’t forget to have fun.
Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Link up at Wednesday’s post. Link goes live at 6:00 pm through Saturday late…
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers 😀
PROMPT WORD: EDGE
“That’s what a story must feel like to me. It’s not, “I want to write about a gravedigger.” But you’re walking along and – boop! shovel. “Ok, what does one do with a shovel? Digs a hole. Why? I don’t know yet. Dig the hole! Oh, look a body.” – George Saunders
I just love that George Saunders quote!

Did somebody mention fire? Again??? 😳
I too like that quote, Denise… I feel I have to write myself up something now. That doesn’t sound right, but I know what I mean! 😊🤣

Maybe this is the week that Harry revisits the SSC&B. I’m on the edge of my seat.

If he’s in the area, he should definitely stop by.
I believe a lot of us may find ourselves in that very place 😉

Are you saying bring in extra booze for Mr. Greun, lol
Guess you better talk to Ford, if you can find him, Chris. Let’s top off the shelves with a few more Remy Martin. And for the hell of it, have him pick up 2 bottles of Hardy Perfection Fire, they’ll make a nice pair of bookends behind the bar.

I feel that I too can relate to Mt Saunders here.
I quite often have corpses popping up unexpectedly in my tales.

That’ll be Mr, unless he is also a mountain, which seems improbable…
