No avoiding this topic. The weather. Specifically, the change in season. Last Wednesday was the first day of fall here. Leaving work, I opened the door to a gusty wind, mostly sunny skies splattered with autumn clouds and a temperature announcing “I am Fall and I have arrived“. While some of us aren’t crazy about the impending cool, cold, colder weather ahead (right, Abbie?), Carrie, Doug, Chris and Sadje are doing a happy dance! Right there – fodder for a Six Sentence Story! You know it is. I know it is. Shall we write another round? I know this begins the busy season for many of us and goodness knows I’ll raise my hand for that one, but we can do this thing. We can still write a story. Read everyone’s stories, do the visit thing. You realize, right, all of us in the Six Sentence Story community, we’re kinda like family, ya know? So this week’s invite is out. My house, later this week. 6 sentences. Fiction, fantasy, drama, poetry, wild & crazy soc, memoir-ette. All you need are exactly 6 sentences. Personally, I’m happy for cooler weather. My wonky thyroid means I’m hot all the time, so I’m doubly hot when the weather’s hot.
I used the prompt to create another three-sentence story (plus all the argleblargh in the notes) for my 30 Days of Haiga project, so I won’t be participating in the link-up. This one honors my ex-father-in-law, who passed away last night.
