Sunday’s Six Sentence Story Word Prompt!

Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and Sunday’s prompt word reveal for Six Sentence Stories!
Wait! How is it we have not used an “R” word in…how long?! Thank goodness for the spontaneity gods. Only way I can explain how this week’s prompt word was chosen. Actually, it wasn’t chosen, not really. Whatever I was thinking at a particular moment earlier this morning as I rushed about trying not to look at the time, the prompt word barged through the door announcing itself as this week’s prompt word. Isn’t that the way of words and writing and storytelling at times? Words rush in and if we’re quick enough we catch them as they race by; then arrange them in each of our unique styles. Because each of us has a unique style which is the thing what makes Six Sentence Stories so very cool. Which is why, it tickles me each Sunday to write this post. To find out what in the world(s) the prompt word will prompt in our global collective of writers who wander through these parts. How about it? Let’s voice another story, poem, scene or next chapter in our serial story in exactly, precisely, 6 sentences. Link it back here midweek. Let’s keep this party going, keep the writing tap a’flowing 😎

Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Link up at Wednesday’s post. Link goes live at 6:00 pm through Saturday late…
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers 😀

For even the most childish intoxication with progress will soon be forced to recognize that writing and books have a function that is eternal. It will become evident that formulations in words and the handling on of these formulations through writing are not only important aids but actually the only means by which humanity can have a history and continuing consciousness of itself.” – Hermann Hesse

Thanks for this. Glad you are still in full flow, as the word that raced through the door to add to the large cauldron, the melting pot of creativity. To be shared and enjoyed. Dip a piece in and savour what you taste. Happy six sentences.

Actually, Hesse, rather than Hess. Not that it matters really because I have no idea what he means (and I suspect neither does he). 😉

      Merci, Doug. Updated.
We need books. And, I would add, Six Sentence Stories 😄

This makes me think of Home On The Range. I heard a version of it by an old band called the Spotnicks, who sang a lot of American folk songs seven though they were Swedish IIRC. Anyway, the guy sings the word “discouraging” (as in never is heard a discouraging word) as “discur-agging.” Too funny. I guess nobody caught it.
