Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and Sunday’s prompt word reveal for Six Sentence Stories!
So, either I’m losing it or some gifts have “been laid upon my table”. Open them or question them? “Open them“, of course! I do not speak of physical gifts, rather of those fleeting in nature bestowed by recognition my perspective had been altered. After the fact. (pauses, takes another sip of coffee). You guys are wondering when I’m going to stop writing out loud and get to today’s post. Here’s the thing. I went to the movies yesterday. A 12:45 matinee. Haven’t been to the movies in a very long time. As much as I love reading, I was reminded how much I love movies. On the big screen. In your face, giant. Like being absorbed by the pages of a really, really good book. Writing. Think about the power of the written word! In a book or transformed onto a big screen. Nothing less than magical. What better day than Sunday to pick up our pens and write a Six Sentence Story. Tell me there isn’t anything magical about telling a story in precisely 6 sentences. Better yet, show us. Meet everyone here, at the ‘Edge 6:00 PM EST, US Wednesday evening. Tickets are free. Don’t forget to bring popcorn!
Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Link up at Wednesday’s post. Link goes live at 6:00 pm through Saturday late…
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers 😀
PROMPT WORD: SCREEN
“Read your work aloud! This is the best advice I can give. When you read aloud you find out how much can be cut, how much is unnecessary. You hear how the story flows. And nothing teaches you as much about writing dialogue as listening to it.” – Judy Blume
