Un, deax, trois, quatre, cinq, six! ARE YOU FIRED UP?! Here’s a little story…as the pandemic was evolving, home schooling the norm, I entered into a contract with my youngest nephew as way of demonstrating accountability. Every morning, we would do 50 jumping jacks. Then we texted each other when completed. If neither did them, no text. Honor system. This “exercise” is still going on. And always makes me smile. This morning, I performed the “jacks” as per usual. Instead of counting softly to myself, I counted off loudly, with great gusto, varying the direction of my arms ‘cuz I needed to get FIRED UP. My point? Writing a Six Sentence Story is an exercise. Athletes don’t stop exercising once they achieve their goals, they keep at it, improvising, finding new ways to challenge themselves. Here, at Six Sentences Stories, with every story, poem, next serial installment we write, we challenge ourselves, and each other, to be the best we can be. So let’s get FIRED UP, write exactly 6 sentences and meet back here beginning this evening. Let me hear a “hoorah!”.
