Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and another edition of Six Sentence Stories!
It’s early a.m., the sound of a fire truck’s siren blares in the distance. Living in a community close to a busy intersection, it is part of the daily soundscape. Right there is all the reminder I need. Living in an apartment community filled with people, families with children, and dogs and – why it’s a veritable story book right here! Orson was not wrong when he made the sentence: “Everybody walks past a thousand story ideas every day.” It’s not that all of us don’t already know this. We’re writers! Yet there may be a time we miss a story staring us in the face or, miss the idea of a story. As we are well aware, “ideas” are the seedlings, our imaginations, fertile soil. All that is needed is water to grow our stories. Where am I going with this? Stock up on water? In a manner of speaking, yes. Absolutely! What better wellspring than Six Sentence Stories. Prompt word + imagination + 6 sentences = fantastic story, mysterious next scene, amazing poetry, thought provoking flash fiction or sobering soc. Our neighborhood plot awaits. Let’s share in the bounty that is Six Sentence Stories.

Here they are, Chris. They were on their way somewhere I’m guessing not.
