Twofer Sunday! Yeah, it is!

‘Morning, ‘afternoon and welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge. Typically, Tuesday is “twofer” day, but I’m stretching the rules a bit. Today, they’ll be 2 posts at the ‘Edge. This one and the Six Sentence Story word prompt post, so stayed tuned 🙂

Sundays for me can go either way – a slow, moderate approach to the day or a crazy, oh my gosh, so much to do before the weekend ends, day. I’m opting for something somewhat in the middle (you sure that’s not possible?)

D. Avery is a writer who runs the shop at ShiftnShake. Some of you know D as a regular at Six Sentence Stories. A published author, her latest release is Ever After, D has recently introduced a new feature at her place called How D’ya Do. It’s an interview series featuring varied writers in the blogosphere who offer writing challenges and prompts. You should check it out. And not because I had the honor of being the last interviewee 😀 Thanks, D for having me over last week!

Sea of Love. It’s a 6.

it had come to the point communication was accompanied by yellow flashing lights, yet caution had long since been abandoned.

love and longevity, woeful casualties of proximity, time pitted against time, damage deferred no longer.

driven further and further along a distal path, dreams conspired with imagination, and the conjuring begun.

fear was the undertow threatening to drag them under, churning waves of conflicting desires, neither recalled who had washed ashore first.

days turned to weeks turned to months turned to years turned a corner.

..and there you were.

Sunday’s Six Sentence Story Word Prompt!

Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge. It’s Sunday. It’s prompt word day. Reveal day for the upcoming Six Sentence Story writing challenge. I was reviewing  a listing of words I began when I took over this hop and it hit me – there are so many, many words to choose from. So many that Six Sentence Stories could go on into perpetuity! How cool is that? 😀 For now though, it’s my pleasure to bring you this challenge each week. I hope you’ll join in the fun. In the meantime, have a wonderful week, may it be all that you would have it be. Let the writing begin 🙂

PROMPT WORDPOINT

“Writing is a delicious agony.”
Gwendolyn Brooks

Thank you, Sir Isaac. It’s a 6.

Thursday and Six Sentence Story time! Typically, I don’t write an intro, just kinda get right to it as they say but at this moment, I feel as if a little explanation of my 6 might be helpful? Naa-ah. I laugh at the fact I’m even suggesting that. Writing is art. Art is open to interpretation and honestly, isn’t that part of the fun?

                                                                ***************************

Unprecedented push-back slammed hard, the metal of her resistance sustaining yet another round of damage, a figurative pock mark, another crease.

She’d taxed her body, pushed it’s physical limits, savored the feeling of the adrenaline, aphrodisiac to all which ailed her. Fuel + oxygen + spark = combustion, experienced on a level not seen in recent times. Feeling invigorated and strong, energetic and youthful, body memory flooded, nostalgic, (it was) a lover’s embrace.

It is (now) all out war, a contest of will vs routine, both physical and metaphysical, a challenge to the 3 laws of motion. And the question remains:  F = ma or F = mv?
