It’s Six Sentence Story Thursday Link Up!

Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and another edition of Six Sentence Stories!
Lessons. Source? All around us. Opportunity? Pretty much in everything we do/experience. And so it is with our writing, non? In the spirit of full disclosure, I just deleted a bunch of blah, blah, blah sentences because frankly, I’m a bit distracted. Got poked in the eye at work this morning by a member of the aloe family. (a rather prickly experience, lol). Yet out of the unpleasantness, out of the disruption of my day I was able to find lesson and opportunity. And that reminded me that our characters and storylines can provide the same for us. How often does one of our characters decide midstory, “oh no, I’m not living there, that’s not where I live!” or “yes, I’m sorry but I am guilty of the charge” and so we face a storyline change. And not always happy about it. Yet, isn’t that where opportunities lie, and potential lessons live? And isn’t that one of the things that makes writing so enjoyable – it’s unpredictability? 6 sentences. That’s all you need. Beginning here tonight, at the Six Sentence Stories link up. Read you soon 🙂

It’s Six Sentence Story Thursday Link Up!

Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and Six Sentence Stories! Whether seasoned writer or still coming along, I present, imo, no better tool for improving one’s skills than this writing challenge, the Six Sentence Story Blog Hop. I don’t know about you but for me, writing a Six is a little like the occasional lover’s spat (only on a weekly basis, lol).  A cornucopia of feeling that ultimately works through frustration and stubbornness to find the proper resolution of words. Words that form the sentences that tell a story of people and places once un-imagined. Each week writers from across the planet gather here to share our collective imagination, 6 sentences at a time. Join us this week?
