It’s Six Sentence Story Thursday Link Up!

Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and another edition of Six Sentence Stories!
I’m reminded of the Orson Scott Card quote: “Everybody walks past a thousand story ideas every day. The good writers are the ones who see five or six of them. Most people don’t see any.” I totally get that and so do you. The challenge will always be in the writing of that story. And to that end we write. And write. And write some more in an effort to tell the story such that we totally engage our audience. Among the plethora of writing challenges and blog hops available out here on the ‘net, is Six Sentence Stories. A writing challenge/blog hop that offers for free, the opportunity to learn to write better, to practice our storytelling. 6 sentences at a time. What do you say? See it. Write it. Share it.

Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.

Link is live Wednesday through Saturday night late!

PROMPT WORDOCEAN

Short stories are designed to deliver their impact in as few pages as possible. A tremendous amount is left out, and a good short story writer learns to include only the most essential information.” – Orson Scott Card.

It’s Six Sentence Story Thursday Link Up!

Hello everyone! Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge’s June 20, 2019 edition of Six Sentence Stories. I got to thinking about “mission statements” recently. As some of you know, I’m the 2nd successor host of this hop. Originated by Josie Two Shoes, she passed the torch to Zoe at Uncharted who, in turn, relinquished stewardship to me. While I can’t speak to Josie’s original “mission statement”, I’m confident it tracks closely to mine – to offer a vehicle by which writers can challenge themselves, gather in a central location, share their creativity and meet new people. Pretty cool, eh? 😀 Write well my friends, enjoy your process, the discovery of new characters and new places and.. I’ll read you soon!

Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Come back here on Thursday, link your post…

“You know how writers are… they create themselves as they create their work. Or perhaps they create their work in order to create themselves.”

Tempus fugit! But! (allow me to quote the inimitable David Lee Roth) “I don’t feel tardy” 😀  Hello and welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge. If you scroll down the page a smidgen, there, lower left, you see a blue rectangle with a frog on it and the words “click to view and add your links”. When you click on that frog, it will invite you to enter the url for your Six Sentence Story, the name of your blog and your e-mail address (kept confidential). Once you add your link, you’ve successfully unlocked the door to the world of Six Sentence Stories. A thumbnail link to your story will appear on the page. So stop in this week, click on the blue frog and share a Six or hang around for a bit of reading… both are hassle free. New to the hop? A few rules. To wit:

Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Come back here on Thursday, link your post…
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers 🙂
