Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and Sunday’s prompt word reveal for Six Sentence Stories!
Been a bit of a whirlwind in Girlie-land, lately. Most recently? Moved into a new place. I know everyone gets the “where do I begin!” about moving, right? Yet amidst the boxes, containers, bags and general disarray, I’m feeling the tingle of excitement at the potential of setting up a new space in a different way. Because why not? Question: is it possible to change our writing style? Is that the same thing as changing one’s “voice”? If we switch up genres say, will our “voice” still shine through? While we’d all agree intrinsically, “voice” and style” are the same, do we agree by venturing out into a different writing landscape, our voice, though perhaps a different pitch, would still resonate? The Six Sentence Story Blog Hop provides a venue for experimenting, 6 sentences at a time, expressing our writing “voice” a little differently if so inclined. Ya know, like putting the couch in a different spot in relation to the recliner. Six Sentence Stories. The challenge to write a story or poem, piece of fiction or scene in exactly 6 sentences. Shall we get to unpacking? hm…maybe the bookcases should go against the other wall….
Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Link up at Wednesday’s post. Link goes live at 6:00 pm through Saturday late…
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers 😀
PROMPT WORD: BUBBLE
“If a man, sitting all alone, cannot dream strange things, and make them look like truth, he need never try to write romances.” – Nathaniel Hawthorne
Denise ,
May your new place let the sun shine upon your mornings.
May your new place let Selene shine at your doorstep.
May your new place carry you and care for you. Into new adventures and as a companion.

Enjoy setting things up in your new place, Denise!
You’d think that having a character with the name Bubblegum, the prompt word ‘Bubble’ would be a doddle, wouldn’t you? And it would’ve, had she been scheduled to appear in my latest six… but alas no. Although, it has opened another gateway! Fabulous.

(having no self-respect, rhetorical or otherwise) I took the low-road and went for Mister ‘speare his ownself.
Few will appreciate the slightly-surprised delight as I read the whole quote (not that I ever ski….)
here’s the line:
“Cool it with a baboon’s blood”
(Then the charm is firm and good)
some of us will always pronounce it ‘Ba Boon’d’

You’re having stew for dinner, Clark?
Double, double toil and trouble: Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.

Not sure if I can imagine your delight, Clark, lol
I am not well acquainted with the Bard and so…I have never heard that line! (huh…)

(I indulged in a line at the end of the scene you would of connected with… the witches in Macbeth. Not so much deliberately, but (as the fun of the internet is) all I knew were the famous lines… ‘Double double…’)
but baboons! who’d a guessed?*
* well, sure, anyone who took the time to read the entire play… they might. lol
but who’s got time??!! there are endless rows and aisles in the half-dark, used book and magazine store that is the internet!!
no time! no time
