Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and another edition of Six Sentence Stories!
Not a few hours ago my brain was a’blazin’, energy seemingly sustained for… yeah, so what happened with that?! As I type these words, eyes arguing whether to close for the evening, I can’t help but think about the day. I had every intention last night to write this post, give it a final glance this morning, then hit “Publish”. If you surmised my eyes won the argument, you are correct! So I find myself taking lunch at my desk this afternoon and completing this post. Without further ado, I’d like to extend an invitation to everyone on the planet to join us this week and write a Six Sentence Story. Regular Sixers are familiar with the hop rules. If you’re new in town, take a look below. Easy peasy. Write a story, poem, perhaps the next scene in your serial story or upcoming book in 6 and precisely 6 sentences. After you hit publish, return to this post, click on the blue Inlinkz “Click here to enter” and link your story’s URL. It will then appear (with thumbnail) on a separate page with everyone else’s URL. Then what?
Then, anything can happen 🙂
Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Link the URL to your post via the blue “Click here to enter” button below.
Link is live Wednesday through Saturday night late!
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers 😀
PROMPT WORD: WALK
“So long as you write what you wish to write, that is all that matters; and whether it matters for ages or only for hours, nobody can say.” – Virginia Woolf
Already a great turnout! Coming back to read them all later 🙂

Hi Lorraine! Been a long time. Good to see you at the Six again.
No worries. I linked your URL so your Six is on the link page with the other stories. Hope you don’t mind – since there wasn’t an image associated with the URL, I used the SSS logo as a thumbnail.
Be reading you soon 😀

Hi there. Thanks so much. I’d like to keep joining in, but not sure what to do. Especially about the logo. I am on an iPad and can’see things like that. If I do a pungback exh time would that be ok? I loved doing the story.

Most welcome. That would be OK. If you leave the url to your Six in the comment box, I can link it. Would love to have you back.

Here’s the first impulse that I didn’t post.
Ambula-story
While some might take this prompt in stride, others might find it somewhat pedestrian; how about perambulate or promenade instead, jazz the prompt word up a little?
Maybe if it were just a little more exciting than ‘walk’— hike or trek, tramp, tromp; tread, troop, traipse or even traverse— something that hints at adventure and challenge.
Why yes, I’ll quit my rambling and stroll down to the wharves with you.
Yes, I do see that short pier. What, now you want me to take a long walk on it?
Sorry, I can’t dawdle, I’ve got to run.
