It’s Six Sentence Story Thursday Link Up!

Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and another edition of Six Sentence Stories!
Geometry popped into my morning head as I readied for work. More specifically, shapes. I got to thinking if I had to be a shape, a circle would be far better than a square as there would be no “walls” to run into, no sharp corners to slow you down. A circle, on the other hand, runs smoothly around….and around and around and… OK, so maybe a circle is not the best choice either. Triangle? Where do these ideas come from! Part of me regretted time would not allow for discovery of the real story behind those geometric musings, but you know what? There’s plenty of time beginning this evening to write a story. Because! Tonight is opening night of the Six Sentence Story blog hop. Tonight, begins the festivities of writers from everywhere sharing their poetry and fiction, detective stories and memoir-ettes, their soc, fantasy and science fiction in exactly 6 sentences. Rule 1: Write 6 sentences. No more. No less. Rule 2: Write 6 sentences. No more. No less. Film reference aside, we hope you’ll join us for the next few days, kick back, do a little writing, a little reading, a little socializing. It’s a big world out there and we can make it bigger 🙂

There is a novel called Flatland, written in 1800’s. It’s out there in paperback. The characters are all geometrical shapes of different dimensions. Supposedly it is a British satire. I didn’t get all of that when I read it, but was intrigued by the personalities of these geometric figures. Another fun read, (way funner, actually) is The Number Devil, readable and mathematical.

I’m in no way a math person but those books sound pretty interesting. Just put a hold on both at the library 😀
      Thanks, D!
