Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and Sunday’s prompt word reveal for Six Sentence Stories!
Many thanks for all who attended Chris’s book launch. It was quite a bit of fun! Which is what writing is all about, yes? We begin with a word that conjoins with another; they form sentences. End result… a unique literary creation. The Six Sentence Story blog hop is about encouraging literary creation within the framework of 6 sentences. Not 4, not 9 or 12. The magic number behind the 8 ball is Six. I know, I know. How difficult can it be? But this is a writing challenge after all and aside from the entertainment and socializing perks, there’s a whole lot of practice goin’ on even if you don’t think there is. The more Sixes we write the better we get. That has been my experience and I know a lot of you feel the same. With that said, I cordially invite everyone to join in another week of story telling, Six Sentences at a time. Write a story of any genre, a piece of poetry, free verse or not or share in a day to day musing in exactly 6 sentences using the prompt word below. Return here Wednesday evening, link the URL to your Six, then open the door and travel through worlds of fiction and humor, fright and fantasy, the philosophical and metaphysical or the purely observational. This is your place, this is our place, this is Six Sentence Stories.
Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Link up at Wednesday’s post. Link goes live at 6:00 pm through Saturday late…
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers 😀

You make me smile, Lady S.
Call it a hunch, I’ve a feeling you’ll catch sufficient words to weave them into a Six 😉

Great quote–and the prompt word elicited an immediate scene in the story…that’s a good sign! Thanks much, and have a blessed week, Denise 🙂 ❤

A quote which perfectly matches the prompt. I wonder what Joey’s up to… not painting, that’s for sure!🐪🤔

It was happy coincidence, Chris. As I rustled through the “papers” in search of, I stumbled upon J. G.’s. Voilà!
If that isn’t a hint, I don’t know what is, lol
I’m guessing Joey’s little stroll through the park with lady luck is about to come to an end.

Don’t tell anybody, but you might be right, Denise 😉

Canvas, hmmmm. How to use this and not refer to painting. Might be a bit tough.

…canvas shoes? bag? canvas for votes? Someone’s advice to me once – write a story, then see how to fit in the word 😉
To be honest, Matt, not sure myself what I’m going to write about!

Good advice. I just don’t want to use these words in the most obvious usage.
