Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and another edition of Six Sentence Stories!
It’s been a little while now since I’ve invited you to offer up a prompt word. Shall we formerly announce this as writers’ choice prompt word for next week’s Six Sentence Stories? If you have a word you’re fond or would have liked to have seen used here at the hop, please leave your suggestion in the comments box. We shall put it on the List. It’s preferable it not be one we’ve used however, if it is, well we’ll go it again! Which is what we’re doing at this very moment. If you’ve been listening, you’ve heard the soft hum of printing presses running since Sunday; some of us are ready for print. The rest of us will be along in good time. Sometimes a story has to simmer, other times we have to wait until characters “come home”. Not to worry. We’ve got a little over 3 days to write a story in precisely 6 sentences. No excuse not to hang out here at Six Sentence Stories. If you enjoy an eclectic assortment of writing then this is the place you want to be. Pull up a chair, have yourself a read and a write.
Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.

Link is live Wednesday 6:00 PM, ends way late Saturday night!
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers 😀
PROMPT WORD: KEY
“All good writing is swimming under water and holding your breath.”
– F. Scott Fitzgerald
I don’t remember if this word was used before. But as you pointed out, it’s worth a second usage. The word I’m suggesting is “stroke.”

Me neither, Abbie. I don’t recall it being used. I checked my list and “stroke” isn’t on it so thank you!

Thank you, Spira. A good word.
Being a verb, perhaps less flexibility?
How do you feel about “eruption” instead?

Eruption is proper form, includes the verb …learning🙂

Stroke is a good one, and strike might be too.
I apologize for not getting out and about to read and comment lately. I have been busy with family stuff but hopefully will find some time this round.

We can use “strike” D.
No worries. Understandably, our attention is often required elsewhere.
The Sixes will be waiting for you 😊

I’m not even sure how I’d use if for a “6”, but “labyrinth” is one of my fave words 🙂

Question: I noticed some of the 6-ers are displaying a lovely “Cafe Bistro” image…is that only for people connected to the core group who own the cafe-bistro? PS: Bedelia sends greetings 🙂
