Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and Sunday’s prompt word reveal for Six Sentence Stories!
Many thanks to Abbie, Tom and our newest writer to participate in Six Sentence Stories, Forestwood. In last Wednesday’s post, I put out the call for prompt words. As I wrote in that post, every now and again I’ll ask you to suggest a word for using in this, our favorite writing challenge. The response was immediate and amazingly, none of the words Abbie, Tom and Forestwood suggested have been used! Don’t know, thinking we may have to do this more often. What do you think? Each day, writers are busy at their “writing desks” penning all manner of stories, poems, scenes, words dropping from the sky. And each week, an invitation is sent – write no more and no less than 6 sentences, return to the ‘Edge and travel to a landscape of fiction, fantasy, philosophical discourse, a bit of “stand up” or old fashioned heartwarming and inspirational. It’s all here, every week. Come, write 6 sentences. Open the door to the Café and take a seat anywhere. Someone will be along shortly.
Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Link up at Wednesday’s post. Link goes live at 6:00 pm through Saturday late…
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers 😀
PROMPT WORD: PLAY
“Exercise the writing muscle every day, even if it is only a letter, notes, a title list, a character sketch, a journal entry. Writers are like dancers, like athletes. Without that exercise, the muscles seize up.” – Jane Yolen
Plenty to play with.
