“Now if 6 Turned Out to Be 9”

Don’t ask me why. Or how. I simply don’t know. The title is the title. As I write this at 3:19 on Saturday, July 12, 2014 I am light years from all the very many posts that “wrote” themselves in my head today while out on the morning walk. No shit. Isn’t that always the way!

I checked the clock on my phone:10:20 am. A little late to start but I was pumped, primed and ready to do my power walking. I used to walk a lot in the before timeline. With Man and 2 Dogs. Then Man and 1 Dog. We walked. In the park. Through town. Distance, exercise, community. Especially when we’d run into someone familiar and stop to chat. My favorite? Martha and her 2 golden retrievers, Tobias and Hermine. They were brother and sister but to look at them? Tobias was big. Alright lol, overweight:) Big, cuddly, roly, poly Toby. Hermine. She was skinny. And surely the scott of the 2. Couldn’t sit still for a minute. Except when you were rubbing her belly or otherwise rubbing her somewhere. She demanded all the attention!!

I have never met 2 more lovable dogs. Excluding ours of course! They took to us instantly. Hermine and Tobias were pure piles of furry love. They wanted it, they gave it. Like we’d been family for years. But I digress… Yes. I had many fabulous posts writing in my head this sunny, summer morning. I was on fire as they say.  I’ve complained in the past, I’ll complain again: why has no one come up with the brain tickertape? The one that will automatically spit out all the magical and prolifc word formations that seem to abound when you are not even close to a keyboard! Or pen and paper even!

Now here I sit, suffering from the slow paralysis that is “intentional writing”.  I have…..nothing. How can that even be? How can I have all this dialogue going on in my head while out walking and now….Z RO.  And then I thought of Zoe. You may know her from her blog Rewritten. Or you may have seen her comments at other folks blogs. She does get around. She’s very good like that. Taking time to read and comment and support her fellow writers.

As she lamented her ongoing writer’s block, I thought what a good post she’d written for the TToT. It was simple. Sincere. And a darned good piece of writing. Maybe. Just maybe the Ten Things of Thankful Bloghop could help me.  Here I am.

If 6 did turn out to be 9 today. And! If I had already written 6 of my 10 thankfuls like everyone is expected to :1) another day I woke up, 2) sunshine and blue sky today, 3) a fully functional body, 2) a job, 3) music, 4) a working car, 5) summer berries, 6) health insurance, then that would leave me with having one thankful left. Therefore, I conclude with thanks for believing and witnessing personal power.

Hey, you said it Zoe. Not me LOL That’s been my story for months now. Seriously, you would not believe the shit stuff running through my head this morning. I knew, even if I hurried back to the apt., it would have completely disappeared. Good writing gone bad. Kills me!
I don’t mind cursing. Like violent movies, if it’s tasteful, well done, and theres’ a place for it…let it roll.

“Good writing gone bad’ damn! is there anything that is a not a song prompt/lyric reference?!

the number system is interesting, care to try and find a SR that would cover the repeating ordination*?

    * possibly not a ‘real’ word, or, if it is, then used with total disregard for proper context

No! LOL All can be found in music.

      Um…might need a little time:)

What is “real” anyway. We can make up words if we want to! Besides, there are those who would never know if a word was “real” or not if you didn’t tell them.

Oh how I hate to lose those wonderful posts for lack of a pen! A tickertape in the brain would be fabulous. Get right on that patent, would you?

Toby and Hermine sound like fabulous dogs to meet on a walk. I don’t even like dogs all that much, but I’ve never met a golden retriever that wasn’t pure sweetness.

Hey, the song you picked this week didn’t hurt my ears! Odd title, but the sound was good.

I know! It killed me. Then I started thinking I could keep going in my head and just memorize it. Yeah, right LOL.

They were/are so lovable! So true Christine. Of all dogs, goldens don’t have a mean, unlovable bone in their bodies.

Glad your ears are not hurting:)

Six and *always* be nine if you need them to be. Three can be nine, too. Or one. But you are always, always welcome in this hop and wanted and appreciated and I know it gladdens the hearts of more than just me, when you join in.

That’s quite a song. And quite a six to land on after such beautiful memories of golden retrievers, in spite of the lack of tickertape, and I’m not going to pretend to read between any lines or seek sub-text but just to say that right now, if I could, I would magic us somewhere beautiful for gelato and cocktails and dancing for hours in that tipsy space where everything becomes wonderful and slightly blurred around the edges, and nothing else matters.

So here’s to six being whatever you want it to be, and the 7GV can deal with *me* if they so choose *sets feet firmly into the ground and gives the Seven a narrow look*

Thank you Lizzi:) This be good to hear from you, the Queen of numbers!

I have always loved Jimi for the poetry of his lyrics. So many of them. You would enjoy his album Axis Bold As Love. Give it a listen. You will hear music and words there that you will love. I know it:)

Ah, you and I have spoken of those “lost words, lost posts”. I’m pretty sure that notebook(for ideas) we once talked about still lays upon your coffee table, pages still blank. But you don’t need a notebook! Whatever, however you do it, you have the magic for the words. I’d love to go for gelato and then cocktails and then…yes! 2 clarklike females on a dancefloor. It would be epic!

I can say with absolute certainty that not one of those 7GVs would ever, ever mess with you. LOL

I can so relate to the blog posts in the head that disappear before I can write them down!!! I’m seriously considering buying a tiny tape recorder to carry with me at all times so I can dictate my posts or ideas when they come to me!

I’ve thought of that too Jana but I wonder. Would we be able to “speak” the words exactly as we hear them in our heads? lol
Having said that, I’d be willing to give it a try:)

A ticker tape would also be great for those middle-of-the-night ideas. I’m always too lazy to wake up enough to grab a paper and pencil and write them down!

I know Kristi! I’ve tried writing some things down at night, you know little ideas. Then in the morning I’d read them and say “what?! was I thinking” LOL

That happens to me all the time – when out and about I think “Oh what a brilliant blog post xyz would be!” then, when in front of the computer, I either can’t think of what it was or why I thought it’d be anything but stupid and boring. UGH.
Here’s to TToT getting you writing and being thankful and to having a lovely rest of the weekend, you. Sometimes I try to email myself ideas from my phone. then, I look at them and am like ‘HUH?’

I feel your frustration here. I am usually the one who lays in bed at night and thinks of a thousand and one things to write about and have even been known to write an entire post in my head, always arrogantly thinking it will still be there in the morning. It has yet to happen that way and obviously I haven’t learned a thing!
I think you did a fine job and your 6 (or is it 9??) are wonderful!

Or the best ideas come to me when I am driving or in the shower! Your six are good enough to be counted as ten! Because golden retrievers!

Driving! Yes! When I was much younger I finally got smart and made sure I had pen and paper in the car. Just in case:)
Thank you Pattie! We’ve always had black labs, but my next favorite? Yup. Golden retrievers:)
